cells are hydrated. Eight glasses a day? Are you kidding?! Its really
not that much. Eight 8-ounce glasses amount to about two quarts of
water. This is okay for the average person, but if youre overweight,
you should drink another eight ounces for every 25 pounds of excess
weight you carry. You should also up this if you live in a hot climate
or exercise very intensely. This water consumption should be spread out
throughout the day. Its not healthy at all to drink too much water at
one time. Try to pick three or four times a day when you can have a big
glass of water, and then sip in between. Dont let yourself get thirsty.
If you feel thirsty, youre already becoming dehydrated. Drink when
youre not thirsty yet. Do you think water is yucky? Drinking other
fluids will certainly help hydrate your body, but the extra calories,
sugar, additives and whatever else arent what you need. Try a slice of
lemon or lime in the glass, or if you really think you hate water, try
a flavored water. Just make sure you read the labels. Remember that
youre going to be consuming a lot of this fluid. Its probably a good
idea to stop drinking water a good three hours before you go to bed.
You know why. How cold should it be? This is debatable. Most experts
lean toward cold water, because the stomach absorbs it more quickly.
There is also some evidence that cold water might enhance fat burning.
On the other hand, warmer water is easier to drink in large quantities,
and you might drink more of it without even realizing it. Do whatever
suits you, here. Just drink it! When you drink all the water you need,
you will very quickly notice a decrease in your appetite, possibly even
on the first day! If youre serious about becoming leaner and healthier,
drinking water is an absolute must. If youre doing everything else
right and still not seeing results, this might just be whats missing.

Did I already say walking is a great cardio exercise? On a random weekend, do not choose a near parking spot when going to the mall. It will save you the hassle of driving around the parking area. Plus, it is a convenient form of exercise.

You must also be watchful of the food you eat. Avoid buying from the middle of the grocery store since this is where processed foods are stocked. Instead, go around the fringes of the grocery and look for fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy. There are a lot of healthy foods to choose from. Make sure that those are the ones that you put in your basket.

It would also be great if you have journal handy just so you can keep track of your exercises and your food intake. This way you can analyze from time to time your progress and the weak spots of your regimen.

Opt to prepare your own meals than dine out or order take outs. This way you are sure what you are eating plus you get to keep track of the serving. Speaking of serving, you must also know the normal serving of your food. Just so you know, a deck of cards is approximately the normal serving of meat and fish. Listen to your body. Do not eat more than you can chew.

Another diet modification would be to go gentle on soda and bread. While it would be better to altogether ditch bread, if you are going to eat bread, at least choose the whole grain bread. Furthermore, breaking a soda habit might be hard, but this is strongly advisable. As much as you can, do not substitute water with soda. Also, drinking eight ounce of water at least fifteen minutes before your meal will help take the edge off your hunger, thus making you eat less.
